KCI Trailhead Student Feedback #3

SESSION 3

“For me, Kingdom Causes really made me think more about the ways that we as God’s people need to use the skills and talents God gave us to help as much as we can, even when it feels small.” - Sophia

“One presentation that most changed how I think about the world’s needs was from Rocky at Kingdom Causes. It changed how I think about the world’s needs because a lot of the time, people in need don’t actually need what we think they need. Sometimes they just want to be acknowledged and they know exactly what they want and/or need.”

“Kingdom Causes showed me how homelessness could happen to anyone, like how Kami and Rocky said: ‘it could be anyone, anywhere, anytime.’ That really opened my eyes to homelessness and how grateful I should be to have a roof over my head.”

“The KCI presentation changed how I thought about unhoused people. The phrase, ‘people are not homeless by choice’ really changed my mentality.”

“Kingdom Causes had a huge impact on me. Not only did it open my eyes to the reality of what it’s like to be homeless, but it also made me realize how privileged I am. Not only do I have a home, but I also have a community to fall back on in times of need. I’m so grateful. Seeing and hearing the stories at Kingdom Causes made me realize the importance of community but also how important it is to be that community for other people.” - Sarah

“I learned that people who are without houses sometimes really don’t have anywhere to go, even if they really want help. [I learned] how all they really want is to be treated like anyone else, treated as humans.” - Annelise

“The KCI program just reminded me that the world is full of pain, but that we can do our part to help.”

“Going to KCI and talking with people experiencing homelessness was really eye-opening because I realized how even the people who can sufficiently support themselves end up homeless. It made me want to reach out to an organization in my town called Salt and Light and see what I can do to support people experiencing homelessness in Visalia and Tulare.”
