The United States total population in 2009 is about 301,600,000 plus. California dwarfs all other states with 36,553,215 but more than 1/4 of California or 9,878,554 people live in Los Angeles County, which is to say that LA county alone has a population greater today than 42 of the 50 states in the USA. And as you know, LA and nearby Orange counties are made up of hundreds of separate cities and into those cities are coming a huge share of new immigrants from nations on six contents, what I have been known to call 'God's human zoo'. I have had the pleasure to closely observe the work of Kingdom Causes for the past 5 years. Being a life-long community developer, I have great appreciation for those organizations who truly believe in incarnational ministry, with a holistic approach to God's work in our cities. Brad Fieldhouse, Mary Glenn, and the Kingdom Causes team truly exemplify the best of God's work in the city. Their loving, sacrificial and prayerful ministry touches the hearts of those they reach in ways that are glorifying to our Lord, and precious to His Kingdom. I am honored to call them friends, and co-laborers in the harvest.

There are communities of exclusion by virtue of poverty in almost every city in the Nation. The people who live there are isolated and poor. The residents are locked in a prison perpetuated by a host of personal, social and systemic causes. I appreciate how Kingdom Causes network of partners is transforming these communities. KC partners live among the people, the discover what their neighbors dream about and long for, they empower them to take control of their lives and neighborhoods. KC partners encourage and organize neighbors to work together in increase their ownership in their communities. KC partners organize their neighbors to name unjust laws, ordinances, and service omissions that oppress them; then they form alternative, just solutions that improve their capacities to have a more abundant life (like the rest of us). They harness neighbor power (active citizenship) to overcome their isolation and to achieve what they need. KC connects Christians and churches in appropriate, encouraging, supportive ways. The full redemption story is visible, talked about and lived out. People respond to God and His amazing restoring love. KC partners bring the values of the kingdom to bear through humble service with their neighbors leading to community transformation. I have seen it in

What a joy it has been to get to know the Kingdom Causes city teams and to see the wonderful fruit of their prayers and obedience. I appreciate their dependence on God for strategy and their outflow of love as they re-present Christ to their communities. Cities are strengthened and transformed because the KC teams have said yes and have stepped out in united, loving action. They also have seen the value in assessing as they go; thus staying true to their calling and focus. It is a joy to know them and to walk with them as we encourage one another for the glory of God.
