Kingdom Causes

::new kingdom causes city startup plan::

Our strong desire to see our network of cities expand where needed, has caused us to develop a 3-phase strategy for new Kingdom Causes cities.  Each phase has specific objectives.  As each objective is met, we determine the viability of moving to the next step of the process.  Due to the unique nature of each city, the startup process will be tailored with timelines specific to the local context.

Exploration Phase (1-2 months minimum)

1. Initial inquiry & follow-up. Beginning inquiry about a Kingdom Causes strategy for a city is started by an indigenous person - generally someone who has a catalytic vision.  This local interest would be the spark to start a conversation with Kingdom Causes staff and begin the process to discover more about the local city context and the potential implementation of a Kingdom Causes framework.

2. "Discovering God's Heart for Your City". After initial interest is expressed, an opportunity will be made to attend this training that explains the organizational paradigm for holistic community transformation and the tools used by city catalysts.  This is a 4 hour orientation to Kingdom Causes' VISION, MISSION, VALUES, strategies and paradigms.  It is also an interactive time of dreaming about the possibilities in your city!

3. Exposure to existing Kingdom Causes activities.

Discovery Phase (2-3 months minimum)

4. Basic city asset-mapping project. Local city conversations, one-on-one or with small groups would happen continually to share Kingdom Causes' MISSION and VISION with people who have a heart for their community.  The primary goal during these conversations is to learn from those you are speaking with. Goal number two is to invite people to a future strategic stakeholders meeting to learn more about INSPIRING, CONNECTING and MOBILIZING in your city.  We will give you a training guide called Asset Mapping 101 to
assist you.

5. Strategic dialogue with indigenous city stakeholders. A strategic dialogue with indigenous city stakeholders is held to explain Kingdom Causes' strategy.  It is also an opportunity to dream with those gathered about what would happen if 'God's Kingdom were to come, and His will were to be done' in your city.  Based on the gatherings' dialogue, further plans would be determined by the group for continued conversation and meetings.

6. Appreciative inquiry process around Kingdom Causes' 6 key questions. While energy is building, ideas are being shared and people are connecting, there is in mind a future goal to hold a large gathering for learning and sharing.  This large all-encompassing appreciative inquiry would be people from 10 sectors of society: Government, Education, Family, Arts, Health, Entertainment, Business, Law and the Church. The information gathered will offer insight into the current city reality and will give structure to a city-specific plan.

Implementation Phase (3-6 months)

7. Formation of local city advisory board. T
his advisory board will work to implement the beginning phases of Kingdom Causes MISSION and VISION in the community. An advisory board is a minimum of three people and is required to officially organize a Kingdom Causes city.  There is an application process for all board members. The board is formed before the catalyst is hired because they are actively involved in that process.  One characteristic of a member of this team is that they are already praying for and 'seeking the welfare' of their city.  They also support and contribute to the task of developing financial resources for the work. The board meets at regularly scheduled times to continue to strategize for the city.  Kingdom Causes provides a Policy Governance manual.

8. Identification of city catalyst(s).

9. Strategic plan development.

Official Kingdom Causes City Status
Once a board is in place, a city can become an official Kingdom Causes city.  The board ensures that the catalyst has appropriate resources and support necessary to accomplish the agreed upon implementation of the strategic city plan.  The regional Kingdom Causes staff will help the local catalyst in organizational development (web presence, skill training, etc.)
