Update on LA Wide Drill 7/24/07

On July 24, 2007 Operation Golden Phoenix partnered Area-C, various Fire Departments and Law Enforcement Agencies, Search and Rescue, Chaplains, Red Cross and more. Lt. Kase (of Alhambra PD) was the Incident Commander and was an outstanding leader for this drill. The Alhambra PD Chaplains are particularly proud to say that he is their Chaplain Supervisor.

The scenario was a major earthquake had hit the LA area days before, causing significant structural damage to transportation routes. People were in need of supplies and chaos had broken out at the Rose Bowl – the Displaced Population Center. Preliminary crowds were estimated between 5,000-10,000.  Area-C Chaplains (including Alhambra PD Chaplains) were involved in this drill. Chaplains play a needed role in crisis situations - being representatives of God's peace and presence.
