Kingdom Causes

Say that someone comes to you or your Church and is asking for help!  Here are tips that can be used to assist you and the individual.

 * Ask yourself if you initially have a half hour to sit down and talk with the individual about the goals they have for their life and the obstacles that keep them from achieving thier goals.  God has sent this person to your Church to receive assistance.  If they are serious about receiving help, they will need someone or group to help them achieve their goals.  This could take months or years but the reward from the Lord is wrapped up in the process.  These are steps to take to enter into a Discipleship relationship with individuals who have spent years getting themselves into their present situation. There are no easy fixes.  Patience, compassion and prayer are needed for this journey of transformation- for yourself and them. Remember:  People are not on the streets or in bad situations because of a lack of resources, but rather because of a lack of accountable relationships.  What better place to receive this relationship than a Church!

 4.  Pray with them and invite them back an event with a group or at your Church

 5.  Let them know about Resources beyond what you or your Church have to offer:

Bellflower Food Resources
Resources to talk to live operators, references for shelters, temporary housing, employment, government assistance, etc

 6.  If they are looking for some serious change in thier life, realize that you are the best resource as a friend.  Commit to working with them. Gather a support team from your church for mentorship and covenant with them to reach thier goals.
