Alhambra Community Good Friday Service 2008

Twice a year, the Church of Alhambra comes together: Good Friday and Thanksgiving Day Eve. These are opportunities for us as the people of God in Alhambra to celebrate the diversity and richness of the diveristy of God and to see our interdependence. Churches take turns hosting these services.

Alhambra Community Good Friday Service 2007 

 

 

Location: Holy Trinity/St. Benedict's Church

Date: April 6, 2007 

Participating Churches: Alhambra First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), Alhambra First United Methodist Church, Alhambra True Light Presbyterian Church, Bethany Church of Alhambra, Calvary Chapel Alhambra, Holy Trinity/St. Benedict's Episcopal Church, One Thing Church, Sage Granada Park United Methodist Church, Alhambra Seventh-Day Adventist Church (The Grace Place)

 

 Over 450 people gathered for this sacred day to reflect on the sacrifice of Jesus on the cross.

Over 30 children participated in the special children's program including a puppet show, craft and Bible story time.

 

 The theme: The nails of Jesus’ Cross set us free!

   Colossians 2:13-15 (New International Version) 13…God made us alive with Christ. He forgave us all our sins, 14having canceled the written code, with its regulations, that was against us and that stood opposed to us; he took it away, nailing it to the cross. 15And having disarmed the powers and authorities, he made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them by the cross.
