Ryan VerWys City Catalyst
Ryan received his Bachelors in Social Work from Calvin College in Grand Rapids, MI. While attending, he studied Community Development and Spanish in Honduras. He moved to Bellflower in 2000 when he worked as an intern with the Christian Reformed World Relief Committee. He is a graduate of the DeVos Urban Leadership Initiative and is an ordained Ministry Associate in the Christian Reformed Church. He is the husband of Rachel and Malachi’s dad. |

Chrissy Padilla Operations Director
Chrissy received her Bachelors in Cultural Anthropology from Vanguard University in Costa Mesa, CA. Though her degree was in cultural anthropology, it was the sociology classes she took her senior year that caused her to pursue a career in community development. |

Joel Holwerda Good Soils Industries Program Director
Joel grew up in Bellflower and following High School worked for a year in an inner-city school in Philadelphia. It was here that he developed a passion for community development. He went on to graduate from Calvin College in Grand Rapids, Michigan and received his Bachelors in Psychology and Economics. |

Aura joined our team in 2008 to help establish an Organizational Payee Program under Social Security Administration guidelines to help our neighbors who are too challenged to manage their own resources by providing appropriate financial management of their income.
